AirAsia Zest brings me where my heart is

I started flying since February 2009. I went to Cebu City and Dumaguete City for a conference. Then the next one was Cagayan de Oro city on August 2009. From then on flying was an awesome experience. When I decided to migrate in Cagayan de Oro, AirAsia Zest was my airline of choice last July 29, 2013. It was my first for this airline. Im happy for their on-time flights and friendly service. AirAsia Zest the Right Way to Fly, budget friendly too. AirAsia & Zest’s partnership and its new brand name Air Asia Zest makes flying in style more affordable in Philippines and Asia's top destination across it network. True to their motto "Now everybody can fly" I was able to save more than 2500 pesos. I dared to compare before purchasing and booking my said flight. Ill definitely travel in the Philippines via AirAsia Zest.

Enjoy Philippines Midyear Book Launch for Enjoy PH Privilege Card

18 July 2013
Rue Bourbon
Dela Costa st. cor Tordesillas st.,
Salcedo Village, Makati City, Philippines

Enjoy Philippines (Enjoy PH) is giving us the Enjoy PH Privilege Card. with over Php 350,000 savings in terms of: discounts of 10% to 50%, vouchers, buy 1 get 1 free or free items by just presenting your card or voucher or both.

Before we talk about the card, let share to you first the press launch of Enjoy PH Midyear Book

The party was held in Rue Bourbon, a New Orleans themed nightlife place for food and drinks. The place was filled with party people from Enjoy PH executives, card holders, and partner merchants.

Rue Bourbon in Salcedo Village

After registration of attendance, we were offered free flowing drinks from: Rue Bourbon's famous "Caramel Beer"; cocktails; and wines from Artisan Cellars.

Open Bar

Me and my sister have a round of beer to quench our long walk to the venue. After this the buffet table was opened. They offered us: Chili Chicken Wings, Pizza, Fish and chips, nachos, creamy carbonara and 'fresh' sticks salad.

Buffet Table

The chicken wings are knock out winner, its so yummy specially if paired with blue cheese dip. Every thing is good too thus I keep on going back for more.

Then the midyear launch follows. They raffled off many Gift Checks and vouchers from both new and old partner merchants. The crowds' favorite was 3 days 2 night stay in Boracay. Luckily me and my sisters won.

Since Enjoy PH have many many partner merchants, the prizes are a lot too. Virtually everyone is a winner. While the prizes are raffled off, I tried Rue Bourbon's famous "Orleans Sling".

Orleans Sling

I got the recipe for this good drink but I will not reveal it on this entry. The most interesting about this drink is not only for its taste but also from its 'jar' as drinking glass.

After the party, we then went home.

#####

Now, about the Card. To become a member of this great VIP Privilege program we will just pay Php 1,995 annually. Sounds expensive? Somehow but the what's in store is more expensive, the membership is worth almost 350,000 pesos savings from over 250 merchant partners nationwide.

 photo DSCF1015_zps088c29bf.jpg

Upon approval of your application, you will be given a tin can that contains the car and the books of vouchers: one for Metro Manila partners, another one for Cebu/Boracay/Davao/Cagayan de Oro partners' branches and another one is for the supplementary book of vouchers for new partners. This said supplementary book is the purpose of this launch.

Each page of the books are vouchers. its divided in to two parts: the small part that perforates serves the instant voucher and the big part that binded in the book is the guidelines for Enjoy PH members' privilege. Each voucher and privilege could be a 10% to 50% discount, or a buy 1 get 1, or free upgrade of items, or a free item. At the back of each page is the rules and applicable branch where we can only get that privilege, so read it carefully.

Enjoy PH Privilege Card and Book of Vouchers

Let me warn you too that each book is thick enough to be heavy weight, having it always on our bags will become a burden in due time, Thus, Enjoy PH enabled the said books to be available in Enjoy PH App for smartphones like Samsung. iOS will follow soon. For more information, visit enjoythebest.ph and like them also in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Do you want to be a member too? Go to the website and click the "join now" box then fill up the online form then in the section "where did you hear about enjoy" please click "memeber/friend referral" then type "username = agent112778" as details.

Check Me Inn # 02 : Richville Hotel

Introduction:

I'll be starting a new collection in this blog. I'll call it "Check me Inn". Its about the Inns and Hotels where I stayed for both travels and rest. Please, don't be get the title wrong. My intention for this meme is to share to you my observations and experiences in the featured Inn or Hotel. My entry will surely make or break your decision thus I must forewarn you that this is just my Experience. You might have a different taste or observation thus it will make your experience different from mine. Also, I do not intent to write up something against the featured Inn or Hotel, my intent is to share to you my experience so that you can have some ideas in serving us - the Inn and Hotel Clients - better.

For the second installment : Richville Hotel in EDSA Crossing

Richville - building

Background Story before the stay:

Its Seminar days once again for my dear GF and finding a place to stay is the first thing to do to help her. They need a place near University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). Their last place near UA&P cannot be contacted thus they resulted to find one again. Go Hotel in Mandaluyung was the first choice but since they are three pax getting two rooms is not practical. So I suggested Richville Hotel. To my happiness Mr. Cris helped me out reserved the room even without credit card. I also asked him that they(GF and her co-teachers) will be arriving early morning from a first flight and he agreed to let their things be stored first then they'll check in after the first day of the seminar. Mr. Cris also gave us discount. Thank You Mr. Cris.

The Room:

While waiting for them to arrive at the hotel. I seat comfortably in the lobby.

Richville - Lobby

The south wing of the lobby is the coffee shop and restaurant.

Richville - Coffee Shop

and the north wing of the lobby is the front desk.

Richville - Front Desk

At last they arrived and they let me check out their room. It clean and neat. Since they are 3 in a room, the 3rd person sleeps solo and the other 2 sleeps in a queen bed. The bed is soft and the pillows are great. I'll surely won't snore on these.

Richville - Bed

I was amazed to see a tub & shower in their bath. The room and the T&B is really big too It's unusual for a standard room.

Richville - washroom

The room also has a very cold aircon and a big flat screen TV but that TV frame is deceiving. It also have a coffee table and comfy chairs thus they are able to do their lessons plans with comfort.

Richville - TV

The Cabinet (sorry no photo due to lack of shooting space) is also big and very helpful in organizing their things. Over all, They had a very good stay in spite of the city noise of buses and MRT.

Also, included in the room rate is the buffet breakfast which worth 220 pesos. Nice isn't it? Since I'm not a staying guest, GF asked me to come back early morning to have breakfast with them and we will just pay for my buffet breakfast. Cool!

Verdict:

Aircon = cold 5/5
TV = with cable check! 5/5
T&B = spacious and clean 6/5 extra point for the tub
H&C water = good 5/5
Cabinet and coffee table = cool! 5/5
free breakfast = yes 6/5 extra point for the buffet

Staff = courteous and friendly 6/5 extra point for Mr. Cris for the discount
Room Rate = affordable and best value for money 6/5 extra point for the buffet breakfast

going back = YES
recommended = YES

Winning the Brewing Escapades of Bo's Coffee Club

Last May 10, 2013, I joined a contest from Bo's Coffee Club's Facebook site.

Brewing excapades photo brewingexcapades_zps899f744f.jpg

The rule is simple: just share your Bo's Coffee Club experience in less than 150 words. So my sharing goes like this:

"26 Aug 2009 was the first time i went to Cagayan de Oro to meet my GF's family. the next day was our first ever formal date, after which, we strolled in LKK. after a few minutes, her father texted her and he want us to meet them in Bo's Coffee in Rosario Strip. It was my first time to go to a coffee shop. From then on, every time i visit CDO (w/c is 2x a year)I always go to that same place to reminisce my life's many first. Thank You Bo's Coffee Club for being my accomplice"

But here's the Complete Sharing/Story.

26 Aug 2009 was my first time to go to Cagayan de Oro. It was my first time to Meet her family and also my first to go to Mindanao. The next day, we post celebrated our first year anniversary as BF/GF, it was our first formal date. After dinner, we strolled at the Lim Ket Kai Mall (LKK) after a few minutes, her father texted her inviting us for coffee at the Bo's Coffee Club's Rosario Strip. I was shy and puzzled upon entering the coffee shop. It was my first time to go to such place. Flashbacks of movie scenes where customer recite their orders in a fast fluid manner. Unlike me, who is clueless of what to say. "I think its better for you to order" I said to GF. "Just order what you want" she answered. So I just read whats on the board: the coffee I always dreamed of having - Cappuccino. The clerk asked a few questions and I got the hot big mug. As for GF, she had a hot choco, as for her parents and her sister those frappes which I can't recall. Her sister took this photo for us.

Brewing Escapades photo BoCoffeeClubRosarioStrip_zpsb2fea5d7.jpg

After this meet-the-parents' date, we all headed home. The next day, and the next day thereafter after bringing her to work or before getting her after work, I still go to that place to reminisce my life's many first.

May 15 was the deadline and I submitted my entry few minutes before deadline. Judging was on May 20. I thought I'll never win for my entry is abit unorganized and further more, I never got an email or PM from them. But still I'm curious who won and whats their story. So I visited their Facebook page and found this:

Brewing Escapades photo brewingexcapades_zpsa643c926.jpg

Praise God! I won!!!

June 4, I went to Bo's Coffee Club's SM Megamall Branch to pick-up my prizes.

Brewing Escapades photo boscoffeeaward_zps79e31bf9.jpg

Thank you Bo's Coffee Club for choosing my entry. After 4+ years I finally have an Bo's Coffee Club Mug. I dreamed of having it but I dont want to buy it. I wanted it as a gift or like this winning it. Sadly the autograph of Mr. Steve Benitez washed out from the dishwashing :( but stil I have a mug! YES! as for the GC, I promised we'll use it as a double date: me & GF and her parents to thank them for inviting us on that first coffee date. If that coffee date did not happened, i'll never have this sharing and this prizes. Daghan salama pud GF's parents!

Check Me Inn # 01 : Go Hotel Cybergate Branch

For my first entry I'll feature Go Hotel's Cybergate branch located in Mandaluyong City, the Philippines.

Go Hotel Cybergate

The Story before the stay:

Last October of 2012, I entertained a friend who is visiting me and her family. Her flight was scheduled late night so that she can take that flight after work. I went to Pasay Rotonda Shuttle Terminal past 10pm for I was told that her flight will be 2 hours delayed. I waited for the shuttle to arrive in the middle of the rain. After 30 minutes of waiting I asked a storekeeper where the shuttle office is, to my dismay, the shuttle operates from 6am until 10pm only thus I was waiting  for nothing. I walked and hailed a jeepney to NAIA 3. Her ETA suppose to be around 10 - 11pm but she arrived past 1am. The reason? To much airplanes in NAIA.

When I finally met her, I assisted her with her bags and told her that we need to take a taxi since the shuttle service is not available (I shared to her the story above). She agreed and We also both agreed that since it's so late to travel, we will just stay at Go Hotel Cybergate. We both heard last April 2012 from her co-participants in a seminar that they had a pleasant stay in Go Hotel thus it's worth trying out.

Checking-In:

As I said, I first heard of Go Hotel's good service last April 2012. I also checked out their website (http://gohotels.ph/) for  more information and photos of course so that I can see how the room looks like. In the website, I also found out that the Publish Rate that time was around 1600 to 1900. So I guess it won't go higher than that in just few months but I was surprised! The room is 22++. I asked why, and the front desk clerk told me "The publish rate at the website is Tax Exclusive" then I answered back "No Ma'am! the 18++ I seen in the website is VAT inclusive, I seen it at the end tab of the booking page. "Our rates goes up or down depends on room occupancy - the higher the occupancy, the higher the rate" she answered. "You should had booked in the website for lower room rate" she added. "I don't have a credit card" I said as I handed down our extra fee with a heavy hand.

Go Hotel Cybergate - Front Desk
Front Desk

Mental note : disturb a friend with a credit card so that you can book online for that lower rate.

The front desk clerk gave out the instructions and she said about the security doors will only open with a swipe of the card key.

Verdict : Front Desk Staff 5/5; Lobby 4/5; Security 6/5

Room:

Room Space = Good

Rooms are categorized by bed (twin or queen) and by location (window or inside). Each floor have plenty of rooms, based on the evacuation plan, there are about more than 30 rooms.

The room is clean, the WC too. It has clean sheets and towels. The in-room safe keeps on beeping thus I called the front desk to for a utility to check it out. The phone ringsback loud but the voice on the end line is so near mute thus I gave out my request without hearing him/her nicely. Good thing the utility came and I asked him for fix the beeping safe and the telephone. He just removed the batteries. hahahaha.

Go Hotel Cybergate - twin bed

Hot and Cold Shower = yes, with glass see-thru panel and sliding door

Go Hotel Cybergate - shower

Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toilet paper) = good for 1 person only, you must Purchase a toiletry pack at the lobby shop or better yet, bring your own.

Go Hotel Cybergate - Go Shop

Room = comes with a queen bed or 2 twin beds. we availed the twin bed room each.

TV = yes, Flat screen with cable.

Go Hotel Cybergate - Cable TV

Aircon = yes and its cold even in 20C. On the aircon panel, a notice can be read that they are encouraging us to put the aircon near 26C so that they will have a lower electric bill so that on our next visit, the room rate will became lower too.

WiFi access = yes, but its stronger in floor lobby

They dont have a table and chairs for they discourage eating inside the room, violating this rule will penalize us 1000 pesos. We must eat on the floor lobbies for its equipped with a centralized TV, couches and tables.

Go Hotel Cybergate - Floor Lobby
Floor Lobby

They dont have a cabinet so place your bags on the floor or on the bed. Good thing she and be had a Twin Bed Room each, we used the extra bed for our bags.

One strange thing in the WC which is I think far different from other hotels is that they (the hotel admin) asked clients - female clients to be specific - to put the 'pads' in the provided "sanitary bag" before trowing in the waste bin. (Its the small bag on the counter next to the sink and in front of the socket).

Go Hotel Cybergate - water closet

WC Space = good

Room Security = key card. so dont forget to bring it with you when you get out so that you can enter the lobby even if the guard is out. You cant leave a gadget charging when you are out, the electricty cuts off about 5 minutes after removing the key card in the slot.

I asked my Friend's verdict about her room we both agreed to these:

Over all Verdict:

Pleasant Stay = 5/5
Breakfast = none, not included
Service = 5/5
Going Back = yes but via online booking no more walk ins.
Recommend to Others = yes

Go Hotels Cybergate = Approve and Recommended
