AND

It was the night before i leave Cagayan de Oro, my first visit came to end. i fetched myGF in her work then we went to Lim Ket Kai Center (LKK) for me to buy pasalubong for the family. To our surprise, her mom informed us (thru SMS) that her family is waiting at the parking lot and inviting us for a family dinner :"> when we met them, we went to Chicken Inasal Bacolod Style Grillhouse. its her parents' treat so they ordered for the whole family.

Last offering, the parents' Dessert.

Heavenly Buko Halo

firstly, i would like to thank myGF's parents for the dinner treats. im so full.

they also ordered "chicken adobo" and a cup of rice each and 2 pitchers of soda. i haven't featured it simply because i was so busy eating and i forgot to take a photo of it, i was late to remember to take a photo.

for this final offering, ill be featuring this 'heavenly dessert', yummy isn't it.? sorry if its a bit blurry. when her parents asked me to take the photo, i move immediately so that they can eat it right away. only the parents had the dessert since we - the kids - are all so full.

its an halo-halo placed on fresh coconut, embellished with papaya. believe me, im drooling while im taking the photo but i am really full, no more vacancy in my tummy :D

Thanx for the yummy treats Daddylo and Mommyla

ABC Wed R5 : the letter "W"

W is for
Wing

its so great to fly on a window seat. you can see the sky, the ground, the sea. and its fun to take aerial photos. its a big challenge due to the movements - air turbulence; or a sudden turn - harsh sunlight or night night light; but over all its all fun to see new sights on greater heights.

ohh next time, ill see to it that ill ask the check-in clerk to assign me on a window seat again.

the photo herein is the wing of Philippine Airlines flight PR186 from Cagayan de Oro(CGY) to Manila(MNL). its an Airbus 320-214 with registration number RP-C8613.

Loot Bag

sunday 20th of December 2009

i went to GK Aguinaldo Village by invitation from a friends whos been years - 4 years i guess - that i nver seen nor communictaed with.

we went there to give Christmas cheer on GK Aguinaldo's Sagip and Sibol Kids. its a Christmas party to be exact. games, dance, food, laughters.the featured photo is a loot bag for all kids who went there. it has peanuts, candies and chocolates.

as a rule, i cant and i wont show you some of the pictures since they are all kids.

"sagip" kids is in the range of elementary student, whereas a "sibol" kids are pre-schoolers and toodlers. a Sagip-Sibol School is (similar to) a day care center. GK is short for "Gawad Kalinga" which litteralty means "to give care" is an entity, a foundation for less furtunate.

going back to the story, my friend, lets call her "Bang" is a volunteer worker for these kids. and evry Christmas, she prepares this party in her own expence. we - me and a friend, lets call him "Benj" - is there to support her and to facilitate 1 of many games. i prepared for the game materials and rules. Benj prepared the give aways for our game.

being with this kids, makes me feel the true meaning of Christmas. its been years since i last went there. and im glad for the invitation guys. its a pleasure to serve GK Bulacan again, even in a small way.

Litratong Pinoy # 84 : Paskong Pinoy (Philippine Christmas)

Bibingka

in english :

"Rice Cakes"

let me ask, in what part of the Philippines where you CAN'T find bibingka (rice cake)on Holiday season?

in my own opinion, everywhere in the Philippines there is a version of rice cake that fondly called bibingka. bibingka is part of a Philippine Christmas tradition. bibingka is a sure bestseller during the holiday season.

Steamed fish & sidings

Saturday (12th December 2009),

was a lazy day for me. its jaz me and mom. scratching my head wondering what to cook for dinner. i seen this somewhat oddly looking slab of fish tummy on our freezer. since i don't have a bit of idea what to cook, i though of jaz steaming it. frying is oily and oily is something i must resist.

so there it was, i marinade the fish in mixed soy sauce; calamansi juice; and ground pepper.

then took some left overs on the fridge (button mushroom slices; baguio beans - spring beans as some call it; kernel corns; Vienna sausage) and jaz stir fried it, place aside on a plate while the fish is steaming. i add my sibs' left over lemon slices on top and let the aroma of the lemon take away the fishy smell. when its done, it placed in on top of the veggies.

my baby sister came home jaz before dinner and she appreciate my (sort of)left over magic. while we (mom; baby sis; and me) are having this dinner, i asked mom whats this fish, she said its blue marlin.
