Air Asia Philippines will Open Cebu to CDO/DVO routes

Starting 12th of December, Air Asia will (re)open flights Cebu to Cagayan de Oro & vice versa and Cebu to Davao & vice versa. This news was shared to us by Air Asia (Philippines) CEO Atty. Renowned designer Tim Kobe visited Globe GEN3 stores

Iconic Apple store designer teams up with Globe Telecom to revolutionize telco retail

Multi-awarded designer Tim Kobe —lauded for transforming the retail landscape through his work on the iconic Apple Store in New York City— has arrived in the Philippines to visit the revolutionary “Generation 3” stores that he especially redesigned for leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom. Globe tapped Tim Kobe in remodeling its stores to set the standard for store design and telecoms retail experience in the Philippines and in the world.

Tim Kobe is the CEO and founder of Eight Inc., a strategic design firm with offices in San Francisco, New York, Honolulu, Tokyo, London, Singapore, and Beijing. The "8 design human experience”—which hints at the Generation 3 store promise—states that "we design meaningful experiences. Experiences with emotion and purpose that change the way people think, feel, and do."

A graduate of Environmental Design from Art Center College of Design, Kobe began his career working as a designer for The Burdick Group, a design firm based in in San Francisco California, In 1987, Kobe became a founding partner in West Office Design Associates, focusing on museum and exhibition design for several science museum exhibitions in the US and Hong Kong.

Years later, Kobe founded the globally recognized strategic design firm Eight Inc. At Eight Inc., Kobe worked with numerous brands in the retail and commercial space including Apple, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Nike, Coke, Knoll and Citibank, among others.

Beyond his duties at Eight Inc., Kobe is also trustee at Art Center College of Design and currently serving as Chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Grabhorn Institute in San Francisco California.

Together with Kobe, Globe is set to revolutionize customer experience through a highly engaging retail concept that reimagines the digital lifestyles of Filipinos. The new stores will feature interactive lifestyle vignettes that will showcase numerous products within interesting displays that are relevant to customers. The installations are flexible and reconfigurable enabling the store to transform, keeping the environment always fresh and giving customers a reason to return.

As Globe Telecom makes way for Kobe’s retail concept, it has closed down two of its biggest stores in SM North Edsa and Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro. The two stores will reopen in December 2014 promising a groundbreaking experience for its customers.

Prior to opening, the stores will feature themed surprises – Arts, Community, and Technology. Globe has commissioned a number of local artists to turn these stores into live art galleries that showcase murals exhibiting the vision Globe Telecom and Kobe’s Eight Inc. have for its upcoming Generation 3 stores.

Buffalo Wild Wings Opening this December 2014

Things are about to heat up for food lovers and local sports fans with the Philippine opening of Buffalo Wild Wings, known for its exciting sports viewing atmosphere. Tony Fernandes and AirAsia at 2014 World Branding Awards

LONDON, October 28, 2014 – The 2014 World Branding Awards gave special recognition to Tony Fernandes, AirAsia Group CEO, naming him “Brand Builder of the Year” for his outstanding work in building the low cost airline brand.

AirAsia was also named “Brand of the Year” in the airline category. Village Tavern's 18 New and Sumptuous Culinary Creations

TGIFriday’s is now in Fairview Terraces Mall

This TGIFriday’s restaurant is the third branch to sport the brand’s fresh, new look with a 150 seating capacity.

Intro:


When I was in High School, Insomnia was already part of me. While waiting for Mr. Sandman to pour sand on my eyes, I came across to this movie on TV entitled "84 Charing Cross Road". Its a movie about a two-decade(1949-1969) long distance friendship (New York-London) of two people who loves books. They send not only letters but also includes postcards, food parcels,and virtually everything that the post accepts. That movie made me want to have letters and postcards and make it as my wall paper.

Hopefully  - at this times where post is becoming less important due to technology - its not yet to late to make this dream a reality. Now that I have two blogger friends who started this idea, I will now blog my postcards received. I'll also join this post crossing website so that my postcard collection will roll over.

14th Segunda Mana Charity Shop Opens

The Donation-in-Kind Program of Caritas Manila, Segunda Mana opened its 14th charity shop last May 9, 2014 at the 5th Level of Metro Point Mall, EDSA Rotonda, Pasay City. 

Rev. Fr. Roberto dela Cruz, the Archdiocesan Minister for Restorative Justice, graced and lead the blessing and ribbon-cutting of the newest branch. As Rev. Fr. Anton Pascual, Caritas Manila’s Executive Director puts it, “Buying is the new way of giving.”


Pre-loved items such as clothes, shoes, bags, toys, home and fashion accessories are donated by generous companies, organizations and individuals which are offered at friendly prices in Segunda Mana stalls. 

This is the 14th branch and the 12th mall-based store for Segunda Mana. Other branches are located at Makati Cinema Square, Isetann Cinerama Complex, Harrison Plaza , StarMall-Edsa, StarMall-Alabang, Victory Central Mall, Victory Shopping Center, Victory Pasay Mall,  Farmer’s Plaza, Sta. Lucia Mall, Riverbank Center-Marikina, San Roque Cathedral and in Caritas Manila Head Office.

Metro Point Mall’s owners and management granted free space and stall for this program of Caritas Manila. 

It’s the mission of Caritas Manila to instil the value of giving as a way of life.  Through its pro-poor programs and efforts, they help sustain and uphold the organization’s mission to develop and empower the disadvantaged and the vulnerable. Caritas Manila’s flagship program focuses on education for the underprivileged youth under its Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) which currently supports 4,000 students. YSLEP is an integrated youth development program that develops the youth’s potential in terms of knowledge, skills and attitude and trains them to become leaders. Megaworld posts 49% record growth in net income for Q1 2014

Megaworld, the Philippines’ leading property developer and the no. 1 office developer and landlord, posted a net income of P2.69-billion (inclusive of the P604-million non-recurring gain) for the first quarter of 2014, 49-percent higher than the P1.81-billion for the same period in 2013 due to strong residential sales in its various townships, particularly in Newport City, Uptown Bonifacio, McKinley Hill and Eastwood City; and higher leasing income from its office and retail portfolio.

“As we celebrate our 25 years in the real estate industry, we look forward to another record breaking year for Megaworld as we aggressively expand our townships across the country,”says Dr. Andrew L. Tan, chairman and CEO, Megaworld.

On the other hand, Megaworld’s rental income from office developments and lifestyle malls surged to a record 1.7 billion in first quarter 2014, 23percent higher than P1.39 billion same period in 2013. 

Total revenues of Megaworld, together with its subsidiaries Empire East Land Holdings and Suntrust Properties, amounted to P9.94 billion for the first quarter 2014, up 22percent from P8.15 billion forthe same period in 2013.

Megaworld, and its subsidiaries, posted P19.6 billion in reservation sales in the first quarter 2014 which is 9 percent higher compared to same period last year. 

Just last week, the company announced the planned consolidation of Tan’s real estate companies under Megaworld with the acquisition of 49.2% stake of Alliance Global Group, Inc. in Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI).The acquisition brings Megaworld’s majority stake in GERI to 74.96% and increases the property giant’s total land bank to more than 3,900 hectares.

Megaworld is also set to further solidify its position as the leader in office developments in terms of total office space inventory by completing another 112,000 square meters of office spaces this year.  By the end of 2014, the company will have around 712,000 square meters of office spaces in its portfolio with the completion of new state-of-the-art office towers in Uptown Bonifacio, The Mactan Newtown in Cebu, and Iloilo Business Park.

On the retail side, Megaworld is also set to complete additional commercial and retail spaces with the completion of the Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, and some commercial strips at The Mactan Newtown. Megaworld’s existing commercial and retail space portfolio is currently at 304,083 square meters.

It was a pleasant news from my sisters that Jollibee will offer new creamy shakes and it will be available (today) 1st of May. When I went to my suking Jollibee branch - Jollibee Xavier - I was amaze that it's also available here in Cagayan de Oro. What's more amazing its that it has also has other combo options.


I'll definitely try that one later before going home. Right now ill accompany my wife in her office with this another great combo meals.


I ordered spag-hotdog combo on the go for our snacks in the office. As her nieces always say "sharing is loving".

Pilipinas Taj launches Tata Manza, Tata Vista and Tata Xenon at Manila International Auto Show

Prepare to meet four new vehicles from the biggest motor company of India, Tata Motors Limited, the leader in commercial vehicles and among the top in passenger vehicles.

The Tata Manza INI sedan, the sporty hatchback Tata Vista INI, two sports pick-ups, the Tata Xenon DLS and the Tata Xenon DLE, plus the mini trucks Tata Ace and Tata Super Ace were unveiled at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Also showcased at MIAS and available for retail in the Philippines starting July are the Tata Ace and Tata Super Ace. These diesel mini trucks are durable, fuel-saving and provide optimum capacity for both seating and loading, making for a great vehicle choice for enterprising Pinoys.

“Big 4” motorbike firms boost “Original Na Bida” 3.0 edition

The motorcycle industry’s Big 4 — Honda Philippines, Kawasaki Motor Philippines, Suzuki Philippines and Yamaha Motor Philippines — converge as they push for high quality, safety and original design in the 3rd edition of their “Original na Bida” (OnB) campaign at SM City Cagayan de Oro Event Activity Center to be held this coming March 14-16, 2014.


For three days, the Big 4 motorbike firms, shifting the holding of this noteworthy campaign from its traditional Manila base to this famous Mindanao city called “City of Golden Friendship,” will offer safety-riding programs and recreational activities amid a festival-like environment, to patrons as they reiterate the wise choice of original motorcycles and spare parts among motorists for a more pleasurable riding experience.

Yesterday, the event kicked-off with a grand Big 4 motorcade started at 8 a.m. then, a press conference, ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the OnB seal and video presentation will follow, while another interesting video called “Bida vs. Nagpapakabida” been shown to further emphasize the value of using original brands and spare parts.
