Food Trip # 02 : Tinowa

What's the sense of traveling places without sampling their local specialties. Food that makes the place known for and the other way around. This is my Food Trip, where visiting a place is not the same nor complete without eating what do locals are proud of. I will make a blog entries regarding the food I tasted during my travels in this meme so do please visit every Friday and the Food Friday Meme.

My featured menu for today:
Tinowa
Stew(ed)

in this dish, we chosen Tanigue & curly seaweed(i forgot to ask the name);stewed with leeks.

i admit, i really dont know what the real name for this dish. others say "tinola"; others say its "tinowa", others "tula". maybe its different on each province/town and its grammar. all i know is this is better than a hearty cream soup. i can say that this is one of my comfort food. when we arrived at the place, my pangga insisted on her brother to order the soup, in an instant, i already guessed that she is referring to this one so i said no more.

My second Eye Ball
of the Lifetime and to Litratong Pinoy

Yes it's my second time to attend an eyeball(EB) meeting of a certain group. Both EBs are EBs of Litratong Pinoy. Hesitations

I was reluctant to attend since nobody will attend the house that time. but i still got up to be there after my house chores. when me & sib ShutterHappyJen got some water & batteries on a convenience store, rain poured so hard that made us hesitant to go. after the rains, we decided to go on anyway, boarded the bus, then LRT then we met the group.

every contingent are then preparing for the float parade thus we positioned next to Star City entrance gate to capture the parade. The security is so tight on our place thus we moved to the Star City Parking entrance to capture the floats and its delegates as they prepare their places in the parade. Summer time is hot-hot-hot. and the only way to beat the summer sun is to drink cold. sooner or later, the streets will be lined by these sight. these stalls are usual but if its summer it doubles :D

Every summer, this leading instant coffee maker makes cold water soluble coffee. Their commercial is one hot sunny summer day at the beach and a hunk will make cold coffee for all.

as for me, i always beat the summer heat w/ ice cold cola with a big chunk of ice.

bad trip for this year, our summer is hot but rainy too, hayz :(( speaking of global warming, it rains and it pours even on summer :(
