Food Trip # 59 : @ Rai Rai Ken (5 of 5)

Mixed Tepan

this dish is ordered for my girlfriend's sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law. after the couple's pre-cana seminar, they hurried to join us. when they are near the place, her mother ordered this for them so that when they arrive, the food is served.

i guess, this dish is a combination of Seafood Hot Pot Tepan and Saikuro Beef Tepan with the usual mung bean sprouts as side dish.

after they ate, they went on to their appointments and us (me, GF, and parents) went to the airport for i will go back to manila to end this trip (January 2010 visit), as we bid goodbyes at the airport, GF's mother cheered me up by saying "see you this May for my daughter's wedding", i smiled and said "yes ma'am, ill be there".

YUP!!!! i was their in that wedding which was held last May 8, 2010. i visited them on April 23, 2010 and ended on May 9, 2010. the food trip goes on so keep on visiting/reading my entries.

Saikuro Beef Tepan

My girlfriend's parents shared this dish and ordered a cup of rice for each. I really do envy them :"> even for 35 years of marriage they are so sweet as newly weds.

The dish has sizzling beef cubes and a side dish of mung bean sprouts.

Seafood Hot Pot Teppan

When the waiter served this in our table, i immediately took a photo of it. for i am so shy to cause delay to the eaters' enjoyment. when no one in our table claimed it as his order, GF's mom immediately called the waiter and informed him that this dish is not part of our order and the waiter acknowledged his mistake by getting it gently and serving it on table next to us.

Seafood Sumo Bento

Ordering is really hard on this resto. all are good and worth trying for. Since im into seafood and big meals, this is what i ordered.

its has: 4 slices of tuna sushi w/ calamansi and wasabe paste and soy sauce;seafood tepan;2 pcs of shrimp tempura and dip;a serving stir fried mung sprouts (i forgot the japanese term); and rice in a cup.

its really heavy meal, i even forgot that ill ride a plane back home in manila thus i had a full tummy as my excess baggage.

Before i leave Cagayan de Oro last January 2010, Me, Girlfriend and her Parents went to Lim Ket Kai Mall to hear the Holy Mass at the LKK Attrium then we had lunch at Rai Rai Ken of the 2nd floor. while we are having our lunch, Girlfriend invited her sister and sister's Fiance (at that time) to join us after their Pre-Cana seminar. After this lunch, Sister and her fiance went on to their appointments and Girlfriend and her Parents brought me to the airport for my 2pm flight back home to Manila.
