Spaghetti Shrimp Garlic and Mushrooms

20 January 2011

As I shared last Saturday (19 June 2011) that I'm with my GF's youngest sister and that sister's hubby to accompany them accomplish GF's Sister's Visa. after all the transactions for the day, we headed to Buendia LRT to have (a late) lunch and afterwards, they will go to their eldest sister's home in Batangas.

They chosen to dine in Pizza Hut and GF's Sister's Hubby ordered this one. As I can see, he enjoyed his meal but the garlic was so many, he has to move some on the side.

Spaghetti in garlic-butter sauce with sauteed mushrooms and shrimp; embelished with basil leaves and garlic bread stick.

the shrimps are big too. as i said earlier, the garlic bits was so many so after he ate, i can see that he set aside about 2-3 tablespoons of it. i did not had a taste of it but its really looks yummy and i want to try it some time. i just hope that my serving has little garlic bits than his.

They chosen to dine in Pizza Hut and GF's Sister ordered this one. Sadly, she did not finished it. The serving is so big for her and even for me. When I asked her if i can have a bite, she said yes.

Its flaked pork BBQ served with rice. The serving is big even for me, i guess its somehow like 3-4 servings in local eateries. as for the taste, its too sweet for me, i cant taste the smokey BBQ which i had in mind. the sweetness also covered or over empowered the salty taste.

They chosen to dine in Pizza Hut and i ordered this one, my favorite lasagna. The garfield in me really took place. I enjoyed every bit and every drop of it, i also had a bottomless cola with it.

five layers of pasta with very meaty sauce and cheese in between layers; topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses; baked to make that cheeses melt. embellished with basil leaves and garlic bread stick.

The fastest and the brightest

Believe it or not, im still using a monochrome (black letters in green LED) cellphone in spite of all hi tech cellphones available now a days. I guess I’m using this phone for about 4 years now and the battery becomes empty after a 20 minute call.

If you ask me why I'm still using that phone. The only answer i can give you is that I'm using my cellphone only for call and text plus alarm clock and calculator. the hi tech phones calls my interest but I’m not that fast to get it, same reason for smart phones, in spite of all features I’m still hanging on to my trusty old phone.

The scenario will eventually change. there is this "genius" phone that answers all my wants and craves in a gadget: camera?! with its 8MP camera with LED flash, WiFi?! yes it has, big memory?! yes! 512 RAM, 8Gb internal and up to 32Gb Micro SD external, GPS?! yes and it has aGPS support. These features makes me "want and wish" to have that gadget. Camera to answer the call of "capture the moments". Memory to answer the call to store all those photos and music (MP3) and make the application work. GPS so that i cant get lost in the wilderness and to map out my travels.

If you’ll say to me "a smart phone can do that" well, yes it can but this device im featuring has an extra trick on the sleeve. its not actually a trick its a "real" feature and it makes it worthy to be called "genius". Genius in the sense that it has out smarted the smart phones. I’m talking about the new "LG Optimus 2x P990".

The CPU of the LG Optimus 2x P990 is dual core and dual core simply means doing the certain task in half the time. If a smart phone can run an application in 10 seconds LG Optimus 2x P990 can run it just 5 seconds. Genius isn’t it? Just imagine if a smart phone captured a single 8MP photo, LG Optimus 2x P990 captured two photos. No more wasted moments. Starting an application, capturing photos, playing music or videos all done in half time. Running two applications at the same time is just that effortlessly, no buffering, no downtime, just pure simple pleasure and that’s genius.

My blogging and my mobile lifestyle is surely be done by LG Optimus 2x P990. My travels will be map out by its GPS. My (food) photos will be captured by its 8MP camera. To kill that boredom, MP3s will be played by its 7.1 surround sound speaker, or play or record videos with its 1080p full HD playback & recording. Update my facebook and blog with it's WiFi connectivity. I'll definitely ditch out my monochrome phone and switch to LG Optimus 2x P990.

here’s the list of the specs of LG Optimus 2x P990 and other information

Retail price of 27,990 PH pesos or about 690 US dollars

BUT WAIT there’s more! LG Optimus 2x P990 has a sister.

Did you experience using your cellphone's screen to light up a dark place like a flashlight? When you wake up in the middle of the night and you grab your phone and use its screen's light to illuminate your path to answer the call of nature and then said to yourself "I hope this LED light is much brighter like a flashlight.

Did you also experience covering your cellphone's screen just to see what’s on the screen in a very well lighted area like a sunny outdoors? You can’t see what’s on the screen because the glare bounces on your screen thus your screen is somehow like off. The LG Optimus Black P970 has the world's brightest screen with its 700Nits LCD display. Now you can see in the dark as well as in a well lit area.

here’s the list of the specs of LG Optimus black P970 and other information

Retail price of 19,990 PH pesos or about 465 US dollars

LG Optimus is a blogger's Swiss knife! LG Optimus is more than just smart. It’s genius. Visit lgoptimus.ph for more information!

Bagnet

Calle Crisologo is a "must be" in Vigan City. The street was named in honor to their Political Clan that served the city and the province of Ilocos Sur for generations. It is famous for its remarkable restoration to its Spanish colonial era look. It also houses to a numerous shops and stores of sovienier items and food. One of which is the Bagnet.

In simple terms,if chicharon is to pork cracklings of pork skin and with a little fat, Bagnet is a pork crackling with its skin, fat and meat intact. It is boiled, air dried and fried two to three times until the dessired crackling effect on all parts.

and yes! its full of fat so its sinful and full of guilt. dont tell me i did not warned you.

Background of the Entry:
I got my first digital (point and shoot) camera last September of the year 2007. I dont have a blog site yet but I do have a multiply site since January of 2006. My blogging started August of year 2008. In between those dates, I captured many photos of places, food, events and virtualy any thing that my heart desires on that time. Blogging those photos was my primary reason why I captured them. Blogging on those times was kind-a difficult for me for I dont have the means. So im reviving my old food photos to make these entries.

Grilled Squid

22 February 2009

We went Cebu for our CFC Singles for Christ conference. My GF has a brother in Cebu so, after the conference I called my sister to met us up. GF's sister also present for the conference so it will be a re-union for the siblings. when my sister arrived we went to GF's brother's house. We met her brother's family (wife and daughter) after awhile we went to Mana SuTuKil for our lunch.

I already featured in this blog my experience in Mana SuTuKil. I featured the place, and their signature dishes: Sinugba; Tula; and Kinilaw but i forgot to feature the two dishes that we also had.

I love squid and I shared that to GF, they ordered and when they asked me and my sister on what dish it will be cooked, I said Sinugba (grilled) and my sister said Calamari. so half went to the grill and half went to the frying pan.

after eating, we strolled to the Lapu-Lapu shrine and Magellan Monument which are both on the other side of the fence.

Kinilaw

18 February 2009

It was my first time in Cebu! with me are my sister and my friend. Upon arrival Mactan Cebu Airport, we contracted a coupon taxi to bring us to our hotel, I thought it was clear to the driver where we are heading thus we find our self lost in Barangay Lahug. thus I reiterated to the driver that we must be in go to Colon st. after showing my map to him, we finaly came to our hotel. after the usual check-in process we now must find a food place since we havent had our lunch yet, it was already two in the afternoon. I asked the front desk crew how we can go to Robinsons Place, she said that its just a single jeepney ride, giving us the jeepney code (yes, every route in Cebu has a code as seen on top of the jeep and on its side)

when we arrived in Robinsons Place, we went to the food court and one by one we took our orders on different places. I ordered this kinilaw na tanigue which is my favorite visayan dish catered by Casa Ilongga. It also come with rice and soup. My sister ordered pork BBQ and my friend ordered rellenong alimasag; pork asado and lumpia. we all shared our orders thus we had a tasted of it. after our late lunch cum early dinner,we strolled a little in the mall then went to the grocery to have some supplies, water and food for the rest of our stay.

Chichacorn was coined from two words : chicha from chicharon (pork cracklings) and corn from cornick. The difference between a cornick and a chichacorn is that the chichacorn is fried until it "popped" thus the crackling effect of its kernel.

It has a varriety of flavors and the most common one is salted-garlic and hot and spicy.

TechieShe’s Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways Week No. 2

I blog because...

This is my entry to TechieShe’s Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways Week No. 2. This week’s prize is $10 sponsored by Lainy of Lainy’s Musings

I only have two main reasons why I am a blogger

when I was a child, grade school student to be exact, I realy hate "theme writing". Yes! that story or article writing that should have have minimum words. I admit I only have few words in my mind. so simple things comes from it and few words will flow. Every time i look at my theme writing notebook, thinking what to write, i became an impatient man to have water in the middle of a drought.

so my first reason of being a blogger is to change that attitude. now, that i am a blogger, im still an impatient man to have water in the middle of a drought but the water is more faster (than my school days) and more volume.

second reason of being a blogger is for me to connect myself to the world. having friends around the world is for me like a prestige. i use my words, my photos, my food as my universal language. that is why this blog has photos of food, destinations and respective captions.

as for the reason of rewards and freebies. well who doesnt like it. me too use my blog in joining some contest and giveaways and other stuff be it on kind or cash. for me, i see to it that my two main reasons is not compromised. I see to it that my views (in life and love) will never change just to get that stuffs.
